If you’re sitting there wondering how you’re going to get your next client, don’t worry you’re not alone. Or maybe you haven’t gotten your first client and there’s no end in sight. Chances are you’ve told yourself the market is oversaturated.
Ahem. It’s definitely not. In this week’s video, we’re digging into 3 mistakes you might be making that will prevent you from getting your first (or next!) client.
You Don’t Know Who You’re Marketing To.
9 out of 10 times, people start businesses assuming they should be marketing to everyone. So they are all over the place with their marketing efforts. They join all the groups, place vague ads and then wonder why no one is biting.
Guess what? You’re not for everyone. Neither are your products or services.
Get clear on who you’re serving by determining your ideal clients. Figure out who you can help, who you want to help and how you can connect with them. This is the first step in really creating a marketing plan that will work!
You’re Not Clear on Offerings.
I see this far too much. Wishy washy offerings or services. Instead of creating a strong product or strong service, business owners will dabble. Now some of this comes with being a creative person and wanting to do all the things. I get that. I want to do all the things too.
But the biggest issue that I see is people that create an offering, sporadically throw it out there to see what happens and then try something new with it doesn’t IMMEDIATELY create traction.
This creates overwhelm in your audience and they have no idea what to purchase so they aren’t going to purchase a darn thing, thankyouverymuch.
Instead, you need to create a solid offering and stick with it for some time. This will help you show that you’re an expert in your industry. I always recommend starting with three simple offerings.
- A low cost/low risk offering.
- A Mid Level but higher value offerings.
- Top Tier Offering with a top tier price.
You’re Not Putting Yourself Out There.
Fear is a powerful leash and will hold you back as long as you let it. Instead, get clear on your intentions and share it with the world. You can start small and baby step into bigger motions. But be sure to share!
Friend, you’re ready to get unstuck! So let’s do this!
