If there’s one thing that is ABSOLUTELY certain it’s that creating a strong brand is a HUGE part of attracting clients and success. The problem is that most people are doing it all wrong. In fact, I did it wrong for a LONG time!
This week, I’m breaking down how you can create a strong brand that will attract clients, help you make more money and help create a fulfilling business that leaves you feeling energized. Are you ready?
Before we dig into the real meat, it’s important that you know a few things.
Number 1. Your brand is not your logo, it’s not your colors and it’s not your fonts.
Those elements are important for your business for sure but they’re your brand identity and that comes AFTER you develop your brand. I know, I’m bursting bubbles here because that’s the fun part, right?
Number 2. Your brand is what you make people feel and think when they come across your business.
It’s that vibe you give off. That feeling your audience gets. It’s that little butterfly in your stomach when you step into a Target and smell all the cozy home goods. Ahem. Target is my brand today, okay?
Your goal as a business owner is to create a memorable experience for those that encounter your brand. No pressure, right?
This isn’t as terrifying as it sounds. You’ll do this by focusing on four key points.
- What you say. (your content)
- How you say it. (your tone or voice)
- Where you say it. (your guest appearances and platforms)
- How you treat people and behave. (your culture)
The best way to create this strong brand is by being very intentional and creating that strong foundation within your business so that you know who you are and what you’re business is truly about.
Yep, this means you need to dig into the nitty gritty of your business.
Ask yourself these questions and don’t be afraid to dig deep into it.
- Why did you start this business?
- What do you hope to achieve with this business?
- What are your core values?
- How do you want others to feel when they encounter your business
Once you have a strong foundation, you can create a marketing plan to attract your people! This is when you get to add your brand to a brand identity. The FUN PART!
When creating your brand identity, it’s so important to make sure that you’re staying in alignment with who you are and what your business is about. This is something I struggled with for years so I have a great example for you.
I’m naturally a silly, creative person. AKA, there’s yarn everywhere in my house. I have brightly colored walls. ANIMALS. EVERYWHERE. Yet the identity I put out was a clean, marble aesthetic because that’s what was “trendy.”
“Trendy” doesn’t pay the bills, y’all. And more so, trendy can feel isolating!
Instead of focusing on trends, be who you are because there are undoubtedly people out there that are like you and need to hear from you.
Beyond that, keep showing up.
Consistency pays off, friend. And there may be times when you feel like your efforts are going unnoticed. I urge you to not give up.
Building a strong brand can feel daunting but I know you can do it and I can’t wait to see you grow!
