Things Every Lady Boss Should Let Go Of

Can you believe that 2016 is nearly over? I can’t say I’m not happy. It’s been a crazy year. Crazy schedules, life changes and the general chaos that comes with being an entrepreneur going through tons of training.

Oh yes, 2016 is going to give way to 2017 and I just know that the coming year is going to be amazing.

But friend, it’s only going to be amazing if we learn to let some things go. Now I’m not talking about minimalism. Sure, decluttering makes our lives easier but there are things that we have been holding on to for far too long.

It’s time to say goodbye to those. Today, let’s talk about things that every lady boss needs to get rid of.

There are certain things that every lady boss needs to let go of. And it isn't clutter or procrastination.

Unrealistic Expectations.

It’s always great to dream big but don’t set the bar for perfection. You don’t have to be perfect to be a successful lady boss. When setting expectations for yourself, remember to take into consideration your time, your heart and your desires.

In other words, do the things that are in alignment with your soul and don’t feel bad if you can’t do it all. Because, uh, none of us can. And that’s okay.

Self Doubt.

How many times have you felt like you couldn’t do something. You weren’t experienced enough, have enough training, have enough time? Or maybe you felt you weren’t physically ready. I’ve heard a lot of women say that they can’t do videos or take selfies because they weren’t at their ideal weight or they thought their nose would look bad.

I’ve heard women say that they couldn’t teach things because no one cared what they had to say.

That is self doubt. And it’s awful.

Walk into 2017 saying goodbye to self doubt. Because the truth is that you are beautiful. Amazing. Talented. Worthy. Necessary. Unique. Valuable. Creative.

In other words, the world needs you. Don’t let self doubt keep you from reaching your full potential.

There are certain things that every lady boss needs to let go of. And it isn't clutter or procrastination.

Fear.

I always thought that when I grew up, fears would go away. After all, the monsters under my bed never got me… so obviously I had nothing to be afraid of. Ah, I was naive. Ha!

As an adult, I recognize fear. It’s still there. But it’s not going to hold us back anymore.

When you’re feeling like you can’t do something, when your palms get sweaty and your heart starts to race, don’t confuse that for simply fear and let it take over. Recognize that those are signs of an adrenaline burst. And instead of just succumbing to it, ride it out. Those uncomfortable feelings won’t last and you can accomplish what you were afraid of.

Comparison.

Ick. Ick. Ick. I hate comparison. But we all do it. And it’s never great for us.

When you see others in your field, it can be easy to fall prey to the comparison game. Where you look at someone successful and you wonder what they have that you don’t. Not only does it somehow make your feelings towards other negative but it makes you feel negatively about yourself.

And here’s the deal. You’re awesome. And you’re different than others. No one can predict or dictate how your path or journey will go. You’re in charge of that.

And side note, never compare your beginning to other people’s middle. It’s not a fair comparison.

Friend, there are a lot of things to consider when you go into the new year. Goals and plans and new habits. It’s a fresh start. But the most important things to let go of are the things that cloud your mind with negativity.

So keep the mind constantly reminded that you are wonderful.

Until next time, have a beautiful day!

I found the course offered by Erin was profoundly inspirational and practical. I wasn't overwhelmed by the amount of content and nearly all the content was directly essential to my business. Erin offered a course that paces itself enough to allow for questions and implementation. I find myself referring back to the course content as a resource. The Facebook group also served as a great place to find feedback, support, and camaraderie.
